Syd, in his 93 rd year died peacefully on Monday, March 1, 2010 at the Helen Henderson Care Centre, Amherstview, surrounded by the love of his family. Beloved husband of 69 years to Jessie Rose Budd. Loving father of Lynda-Jane Brown (William) of Barrie and Shelley Kerr (Dennis) of Harrowsmith. Cherished grandfather of Catherine, Carolyn, Michelle, Aaron, and Jenny. Syd has 8 great-grandchildren: Isabelle & Eva; Benjamin, Braelyn, Brooklyn & Alexa-Bryn; Cameron; and Lauren. Dear brother of Doris. Affectionately remembered by Ken & Thelma and Marielle, and his nieces and nephews. A Celebration Of Syd's Life will be held at St. Peter's Anglican Church 4333 Bath Road, Kingston (Bath Rd. at Coronation Blvd.) on Monday March 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a visitation from 10 - 11 a.m. prior to the service. Family and friends are invited to share in the reception following the service. A private family interment of Syd's ashes will be held at Glenhaven Memorial Garden. The family extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. A. Garcia, the caring staff of the Helen Henderson Care Centre, the pastoral care team at St. Peter's Church, the compassionate caregivers for Syd arranged by the CCAC, and Veteran's Affairs Canada.
