One-on-one Grief Support

Joanne Robyn OCT  M.PL.

Grief Support leader

Joanne is our lead person for grief support at WFH’S. She has experience volunteering with Bereaved Families of Ontario, and over five years volunteering with Hospice. In addition, she is a graduate of Western University’s Thanatology Program, specializing in death, dying, grief and bereavement.

Joanne appreciates that everyone experiences their grief in a unique and singular way. However, there are many commonalities that underlie the grief experience. She knows that it is often a great comfort and relief for the bereaved to just talk freely with someone who listens with an open mind, and an open heart, to what they are thinking and experiencing.

For those who are past the initial stages of grief (usually at least six months following the loss of a beloved), but still feel additional support may be helpful, Joanne has organized small-group grief support sessions. Participants will meet together once-a-week for five-weeks to share in mutually-supportive, structured workshops, where they can work together to better understand the impacts of grief in our lives, and develop strategies to help them through the grieving process.

We invite you to contact Joanne through WFH’s if you feel that speaking with her in a fully confidential manner may be helpful for you, or to inquire about our small group grief support sessions. Wartman’s is pleased to provide these complimentary services to our families we serve.
