MACMARTIN, Rev. Bruce Donald. Bruce took the next step of his spiritual journey on June 29, 2011 as he gently slipped away with dignity at Trillium Centre. With family at his bedside, his passing occurred on our forty-eighth wedding anniversary. Devoted husband, best friend and soul mate of Rev. Marjory MacMartin. Father of Alistair, Karen (John Desaulniers) and Fiona (Junyoung Jang). Grandad to Sarah, Ryan, Richard, Ashleigh, Shira and Noah. Brother of Lois Devlin (Jim). Predeceased by his sisters Elizabeth and Margaret, and his brother Malcolm. Brother-in-law of Sheila Murray and Kathleen (Harry) Rumney in Edinburgh. Bruce will be missed by many. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Trillium Centre for their attentive caring for Bruce over the past five years. Especially during the last few weeks, your dedication was superb. Bruce loved you all! The family will receive friends at WARTMAN FUNERAL HOME "Kingston Chapel" (980 Collins Bay Road at Taylor Kidd Blvd.) Kingston, ON - K7M 5H2 (613-634-3722) on Tuesday July 5 from 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. The Rev. Patsy Henry will officiate at a service of celebration for Bruce’s life in the Chapel on Wednesday July 6 at 1 p.m. Interment will be private at St. Andrew’s United Church Cemetery in Martintown, Ontario at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, the family would greatly appreciate any donations to the Alzheimer’s Society, St. Andrew’s by-the-Lake United Church Garden Fund, or the Mission and Service Fund of the United Church of Canada.
