Vannest, Raymond – With his loving family at his side, Raymond passed away at his daughter’s home on January 7, 2012 in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Vivian Vannest. Loving father of Maurice (Edith) Vannest of Picton and Jean Vannest of Kingston. Loving grandfather of Raymond (Laura) Vannest of Rochester, New York, Helen (Roger) Taliotis of Kitchener, William (Kristen) Vannest of Shilo, Manitoba and Marie Vannest of Picton. Great Grandfather of Tommy, Rachel, Elizabeth, Ryan and Matthew Vannest. He is survived by his sister Betty (Ab) Graham of Amhertsview and brother Burt (Lynne Howland) Vannest and brother-in-law Lloyd (Helen) Vannest of Enterprise.
In fulfilling his wish to remain at home, his family wishes to thank his caregivers who lovingly cared for him: Natalie Larin, Kevin Abbott, Paulette Kennedy, Lynda Whyte, Liz Richards, Doug Lewington, and Sandi Teevans; his case manager Pauline deVette who skillfully co-ordinated his care; SOS workers at the Amherstview program and his driver Linda. Thank you also to Jean’s manager Karen and co-workers who supported her throughout this time.
The family will receive friends at the Wartman Funeral Home "Kingston Chapel" on Monday January 9, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in the chapel on Tuesday January 10, 2012 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation from 12-1 p.m. Interment at the Moscow Cemetery. Donations by cheque to the Alzheimer Society of Kingston FLA would be appreciated by the family
