Shoniker; Lois Pearl (nee Spencer) - Retired Registered Nurse with Hotel Dieu Hospital and Corrections Canada - In her 84th year, peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, passed away at Kingston General Hospital on Sunday May 3, 2009. Predeceased by her husband Gerard Shoniker and infant son Michael. Devoted mother to Spencer, Gayla, Lisa, Bradley and Brian (Shery). Proud grandmother of Mark, Kirstin and Craig Berga, Brooke and Lauren Shoniker, Steven Stewart, Matthew and Daniel Shoniker, and Jenna and Mallory Shoniker. Dear sister of Carl and Marlene Spencer of Ottawa, and the late Eugene and Marie Spencer of Belleville. Sister-in-law to Theresa Osenenko of Brantford and Jeanne Shoniker, Kingston. Much loved aunt to many nieces and nephews. The family is appreciative to Rosewood Retirement Home and the nurses and doctors of Connell 3. A special thank you to Don and Ev King for their many kindnesses. The family will receive friends at the Wartman Funeral Home "Kingston Chapel" (980 Collins Bay Road at Taylor Kidd Blvd, Kingston K7M 5H2; 613-634-3722 on Wednesday May 6 from 2-4 & 7-9p.m. Funeral Mass from St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church - 1111 Taylor Kidd Blvd., on Thursday at 1:00 pm. followed by cremation. A reception in the Wartman Funeral Home Reception Centre will follow the Funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations by cheque to Community Living Kingston.
