Obituary for Kathleen Beatrice "Kay" Jones

Jones; Kathleen Beatrice "Kay" (nee Gibbs) - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at Providence Manor, Kingston on Friday, January 7, 2011 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of James T. Jones. Devoted mother of Marguerite Jones (Alan Stein), Marilyn Conway Jones (Jack Conway), Terry Desrochers (Denis) and Alex Jones (Patti McGreevy). Loving grandmother and great grandmother. Also remembered with much love by her many nieces & nephews and friends. Born in Montreal in 1920, Kay trained as an R.N. and served overseas as a nursing sister in World War II. Following post graduate work she met and married her beloved Jim in Toronto, where they lived for the next 43 years. They moved to Bath in 1993 where they enjoyed 15 happy years before moving to Kingston in 2008. Many thanks to the staff of Providence Manor for their kindness. The family will receive friends at the WARTMAN FUNERAL HOME "Kingston Chapel" (980 Collins Bay Road at Taylor Kidd Blvd., Kingston K7M 5H2 (613-634-3722) on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial from St. Linus Roman Catholic Church (217 Main St, Bath) on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11 a.m. Rite Of Committal in St. Linus Cemetery, Bath. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations by cheque to Our Lady's Missionaries, 2 Leander Court, Toronto ON. M4B 2W1 or the Charity Of Your Choice will be remembered with appreciation by the family.
