Condolences

Condolence From: Dan Mellon
Condolence: I was George's next-door neighbour in Morven for 5 years up until Jan 2009. We had the opportunity to help each other out with a variety of jobs around our properties, and I always loved hearing a few stories from him and debating the politics of the day. George was always very kind to my two boys and thought of them often.
George always kept very good care of the grounds around his house, and one time his riding lawnmover broke down. He asked if he could borrow mine, but ONLY if he could repay me for the use of it. I told him that I wouldn't accept any payment, and to go ahead and use it, but he promised something in return anyway. We were just leaving on holidays, and the day we came home, it was hot, humid, 40 degrees with humidex, and there was George, shirt off, in his big straw hat, just finishing off mowing our entire lawn! He was that kind of guy.
The last time I saw George was on January 15th, the day we moved out, and he brought us over a hand-cart to help with loading the truck. I'm sorry I hadn't had a chance to see him after that, but we will remember him as a good neighbour and friend. Our condolances to his family and friends.
