Obituary for Ernest John "Jack" Ashby

Ashby, Ernest John "Jack" - It is with great sadness the family announces the death of "Jack" after a brief illness at the age of 89. Survived by his wife of 56 years Audrey (nee Bawden). Loving father of Jane (Stephen) Revell of Westbrook and Ann (David) Stubbins of London. Caring and proud grandfather of Luke (Liz), Tim and Andrew Revell. Great grandfather of Jeremy. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Ralph (Muriel) and Bill (Dorothy). Jack was a longtime employee of DuPont Canada for 45 years. He made many friends over the years through his passion for golf and curling as well as at the Champlain Towers. The family will receive friends at the Wartman Funeral Home “Kingston Chapel.” (980 Collins Bay Rd at Taylor Kidd Blvd, 613-634-3722) from 2-5 p.m. on Wednesday April 17, 2013 and from 12-1 p.m. at Bay Park Baptist Church (775 Progress Ave.) on April 18, 2013 with Memorial Service to follow at 1 p.m. Burial of ashes will take place at Cataraqui Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the CNIB or Charity of Your Choice.
