Carmel Blackett

My dear Keith, It is with such sadness that I write this note. I have spent the weekend with you saying good bye to one of my favourite colleagues, always funny, always supportive, always happy and always helpful. I am so glad I took the time to tell Debbie how much I appreciated her before she left us. During several of those late night phone calls that she made to me to get help with her French homework, I would thank her for letting me help her in return for the many times she had helped me throughout in my career. Debbie was one of the original icons of Ernestown for me. Many of them, like our dear Debbie, have retired by now but they will always hold a special place in my heart and memory. Thank you for sharing her with us. She was a delightful friend and colleague and I can't believe she is gone. Our kids loved her love of children and dogs and they felt cared for and significant in the presence of Deb. Keith, you will miss her but try to be comforted in knowing how much joy she brought to those around her. She was an amazing woman. We will be thinking of you and her. Love from us all, Carmel, Tony, Julia and Daniel Blackett xo
