Kenehan; Carmal Shirley Irene (nee Reynolds) "Retired Corrections - Prison for Women" - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family annouce the passing of Carmal at her home with family at her side on Sunday, September 20, 2009, at age 70. Beloved wife of the late Jack Kenehan (1976). A loving mother to her five children, Dianne Gottlieb of Campbellford; Guy Kenehan (Marilyn Wallace) of Kingston; Gina Gilbert (Kevin) of Sask; Judy Botting (Keith) of Camden East and Sherry Horton (Ken) of Sunbury. Cherished grandmother to 9 and great grandmother to 7. Predeceased by her parents Carmen & Irene Reynolds. Dear sister of Wilhelmine, Ronald, Agnes, Floyd and Ella and predeceased by Laverne, Marie, Eurban, Melvin, Douglas and Stanley. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Carmal retired from Corrections Canada after 27 years at the prison for women. The family extends many thanks to St. Elizabeth's, the Red Cross, Dr. Patey and the many visits from Carmal's extended family and neighbours. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of life will be held in the Wartman Funeral Home Reception Centre - "Kingston Chapel" on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 from 1-4 & 6-9 pm. A private family graveside at Picadilly Cemetery will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to a local Humane Society or a charity of choice will be remembered with appreciation by the family.
