Condolence: Hey Mike, I was just telling my colleague today about the time you phoned Howard Cosell at half time while he was on Monday Night Football, and impersonated Ali prior to "Rumble in the Jungle". He was completely sold that he had talked to Ali. That story prompted me to look you up and I missed you by 8 years, sorry to say. You look the same as I remember you from King's back in 75... Sorry you're gone, you were quite the character. Remember when we stuck pennies in your dorm door and you couldn't get your door open, so you jumped out the second floor window to make it to your exam? Remember the double bubble gum contest and you broke the Guinness record by eating 53? You don't? I remember. In fact I have a lot more. I told many of your stories over the years and I was so glad to have known you in TownHouse 7 with Dac and the gang. Love you buddy

Condolence: Just reading this today. I had the pleasure of staying in the same house as Mike at King's College in 1974 and remember him as a kind and encouraging person. He was a good man and sorry to hear he has passed.

Prayers,

Condolence: I met Mike when I first joined the Argos. He was an extraordinary and talented individual. We were the type of friends that would rarely cross paths however, when we did cross, it was like no time had ever passed. I enjoyed every moment we shared. He was kind, generous, considerate but most of all, inspiring and fun to be with. I will miss him.
My condolences to his loving family. He always let me know that he loved his great family and was very proud of all of them.

Condolence: My deepest sympathy to the Banks family. Michael was more than a friend. He never failed to put a smile on the faces of other. He was a good husband an father, taken from us too soon. I"ll always have fond memories of the times we spent together. He was so unselfish, always putting others before himself. As Billy Joel sang " Only the good die young." I will never forget him. My thoughts and prayers are for the family during this time. I already miss him.

Condolence: To Mike's family, please accept my most sincerest condolences. Mike always had a smile and, that smile always lit up the and those around him with , the "Purest Rays of Light". He was a very giving man and will be missed by all who knew him.
I remember listening with pleasure to his prank on Howard Cosell during a Monday Night Football game on ABC. We also enjoyed watching on closed circuit "the Triller in Manilla" at the old London Gardens. Mike was a good soul and it was my pleasure to have met him at Kings.
RIP , my good man and thanks for the memories and many renditions of " we drink our beer and nothing do we fear, hallelujah the King is here". Thanks Mike.

Condolence: Mike will forever be remembered by those that knew him at King’s as always being "larger than life". My best recollections of Mike always involved some sort of prank or joke but never at the expense of anyone, just committed for the sheer enjoyment of everyone involved.

One of the best examples was when Mike convinced a security guard at Exhibition Stadium that his RV plastered with Carling-O’Keefe posters was supposed to be hooked up to electricity in the parking lot prior to the 1980 Grey Cup game. We camped out there that weekend, played touch football on the field immediately after the Ti-Cats practice, scampered back from our seats at half time for a couple of beers (the stadium was still dry back then) and relayed our exploits to reporters from the Star and Sun for publication in the Monday editions. A truly great weekend and only one of many times that Mike made the headlines.

Sincere condolences to the family – Mike will not be forgotten.
