Mackie, Dr. Kenneth William - On Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the age of 85, peacefully, with family by his side and doing what he loved most, listening to beautiful music. Beloved husband of the late Mary Mackie (nee Matthews). Loving father of: David (Joane Bérubé), Cairo, Egypt; Stewart (Meena), Kingston and John (Karen Barletta), Jacksonville, Florida. Sadly missed by his grandchildren: Elise, Claire, Philip, Jena, Jay & Emma. Predeceased by siblings David, James and Mary. The family will receive friends at the Wartman Funeral Home - Kingston Chapel (980 Collins Bay Road at Taylor Kidd Blvd, Kingston, K7M 5H2 (613-634-3722) on Monday, April 11, 2016 from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m followed by a Celebration of Ken's Life in the Funeral Home Chapel at 11:30 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations by cheque to University Hospitals Kingston Foundation would be appreciated by the family. The Mackie family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of KGH Intensive Care Unit for all their kind and compassionate care.
