This story happened many years ago. Shirley was on a trip to England, I believe (not sure) and I was looking after her beloved dog Muffy. Anyone who knows Shirley knows how much she loved her dogs, over the years.

My springer spaniel Charlie, Muffy and myself set off on a 7 hour car ride to my sisters up north. The dogs were so good. My sister  had a yellow lab named Reilly. We had a wonderful adventure on the pontoon boat. 

The look on Shirley's face when she was informed that Muffy had  learned to swim was priceless.

I got to know Shirley when I used to take my mom to her annual Christmas lunch with my other Aunty May. What fun. This continued with my sister and I , with many other additions over the years. She will be missed.
