LOH; Wilson Kok Yew.
On Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021, Wilson Loh unexpectedly passed away at the age of 60.
Wilson was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on February 3rd, 1961 to parents Sally Lim Yan Sun and Walter Loh Poh Khan. Wilson grew up in Malaysia surrounded by many cousins and friends. Upon causing, presumably too much, mischief, he was soon sent off to boarding school in rural Yorkshire, England to spend his teenage years. Returning as an adult to Malaysia and then on to Australia, he quickly built his resumé including jobs such as: fruit picker, cobbler and race car driver. Wilson eventually settled in Kingston, Ontario in 1992, raising his two children, daughter Marissa and son Harrison. During his life in Kingston, he received his MBA from Queen’s University, operated several businesses and thrived in commercial real estate.
Wilson is remembered as a loving father, a pillar in his community and a fierce friend. In conversation, Wilson had the charisma to easily captivate any willing audience. He loved to socialize and host, always creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for anyone crossing his threshold. As an ever-flowing river of solicited (and, at times, unsolicited) advice, we believe his impact will be felt for years to come.
Wilson is survived by his children, Marissa (Jack) and Harrison; his sister Susan (Mike); and first-wife Paula.
