Obituary for Al Young
YOUNG, WILLIAM ALAN (“AL”)
1938-2023
Peacefully and surrounded by his family, William Alan Young (“Al”), in his 85th year, passed away at the Lennox and Addington Hospital on February 27, 2023.
Al is survived and deeply missed by his beloved wife, Susan Clarke, his daughters: Tracey Young, Heather Young (Ken Jones), Diana Purvis (Mike), Stephanie Dall (Sean) and Jane Clarke, grandchildren: Kaitlin Marriner-Brulotte (Bryan), Alexandra Marriner, Payton Marriner (Brittney), Mikayla Purvis, Emma Dall and Ryan Dall, great-granddaughters: Norie, Eve, Scarlett and Thea, his sister Beverley Pitts (Hugh, deceased), his sister-in-law Lila Young and his aunt Joan Fortier. He is predeceased by his parents Harwin and Helen (Reynolds) Young, brother Donald Young, and granddaughter Olivia. He is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, and his loyal companion, Maggie.
Al was a man of many interests, talents, and hobbies. Above all, he loved his family and any occasion that brought everyone together (especially to celebrate him!). He will be affectionately remembered for his love of all things sweet. There is no such thing as too much pie or chocolate!
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Al’s memory to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation or the Partners in Mission Food Bank, Kingston would be appreciated.
Cremation has taken place. A Reception will be held Sunday, March 12, 2023, 1:00-3:00p.m. at James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd, Kingston, ON K7M 7H3.
