Obituary for Violet Louise Welbanks (Theurer)

Welbanks; Violet (nee Theurer)
“Our Violet “passed away in her home at the age of 103. She lived life “her way”. Born in East Toronto to Frank and Julia Theurer, she had 2 sisters , Mary and Edie. They grew up together in a happy household with grandparents next door. She met and married the love of her life Norm Welbanks in 1937.
Norm and Violet lived on Main St Toronto for several years before moving to Scarborough and eventually retiring to Burlington. They had one son, Norm Jr whom they doted on.
Violet enjoyed the role of homemaker. She took great pride in decorating and keeping a beautiful home. She took up painting and produced many works of art which are still displayed in her home today. She was fussy to a T.
Tragically, Norm Sr died at the age of 67 and Violet moved to Kingston to be near her son.
Violet enjoyed many years in Kingston and made good friends. Sadly Norm Jr passed away in 2009 at the young age of 58 and Violet missed him terribly.
Violet will be missed by her nieces Jackie, Patricia, Frances and Debbie and her two grandchildren Rick and Allyson.
The Family would like to thank Community Care (Pauline), the Kingston SMILE Program, the Nurses and Doctors and the staff at Right At Home Canada who made it possible for Violet to stay in her home.
A special thank you to Susan for her years of devotion and to Shonna and Tara for being with her these last few months.

Aquamation arrangements in the care of the Wartman Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Family and friends desiring may contribute to their favorite charity of their choice in memory of Violet. On-line condolences and donations at www.wartmanfuneralhomes.com.
