April 30, 1972 - August 13, 2019
At home on Tuesday, August 13, Shelley gently slipped away with her loving husband, best friend, and constant companion of 28 years, Dan Willemse, by her side. Shelley was a loving mother who will always be adored by her two beautiful daughters, Bridget Kate and Jodie Meaghan. She is survived by her parents, Ed and Rosemarie Mallen of Bath, Ontario, and her sister Tracey Mallen and husband John Kemp. She is also survived by mother and father-in-law Teddie and John Willemse of Woodstock, Ontario. She will be greatly missed by Dan’s brothers and sisters: Jeannette and Randy Lydestad, Lisa Willemse and Glenn Lamothe, Karen and Brent Scott, Shawn Willemse and Anna Della Rocca, and Mike Willemse. Shelley was the very proud aunt of Gwen, Gabriel, Sabine, Avery, Malcolm, Giorgia, and Violet. Shelley will always be lovingly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Thank you for supporting us with words of encouragement, cards, flowers, texts, emails, phone calls, visits, and prayers. We will always be grateful to those who spent many hours driving to exhausting chemotherapy appointments, often taking time off work and driving through snow storms. We send our gratitude to those who prepared delicious meals and made sure our home was in order. We feel truly blessed to have such a loving, devoted family and caring friends.
The family will receive family and friends on Friday, August 16, 2019 at the Wartman Funeral Home - Kingston Chapel (980 Collins Bay Rd.) between the hours of 2:00 and 4:00 PM and between 7:00 and 9:00 PM. The funeral mass will be at St. Linus Church in Bath with Father Timothy Shea officiating, on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 1:00 PM.
