Peacefully at Kingston General Hospital surrounded by family. Survived by wife Betty (nee Young), children Bill (Veronica), Mike (Angie), Karen (Kevin) and Jodi (Brent). Step-father to Debbie (Shawn), Terry (Sheila) and Rob (Shirley). Survived by brother Gerry and his wife Wendy. Proud papa to Josh, Ethan, Michael, Sloane, Tristan, Gabriel, Rachael, Cheryl (Billy), Ryan, Emily, Jason, Jared, Dyllan and Katie. Co-founder and long-time member of Camp Watchawanna near Ompah. From Military to Fire Departments from General Motors to entrepreneur, he was never afraid of challenges or change. Recently retired from the Commissionaires. Thank you to staff at the Kingston General Hospital, Kingston Regional Cancer Centre and Community Care staff and everyone who assisted this past year. Heartfelt appreciation to his wife Betty for giving of herself to allow us more time. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Wartman Funeral Home "Kingston Chapel" on Saturday October 26, 2013 from 2-5 p.m. with words of remembrance at 3:30 p.m. As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the U.H.K.F or the Kingston Regional Cancer Centre or the Kingston Humane Society. Through the Trillium Gift of Life, Ron was able to provided the gift of sight.
