Obituary for Patrick "Pat" Cooper

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Patrick James Cooper on Friday, January 8th, 2021 at Kingston General Hospital at the age of 63. Pat was a loving father to his sons Andrew and Jacob. He is survived by his sisters Heather Bailey (Ross), Maryann Kusmirski (Edward) and Monique Simpson (Bruce) as well as nieces and nephews. Pat is predeceased by his parents James and Marguerite Cooper. He will be missed by many colleagues and friends , and remembered by Stacey Campbell. Pat had a successful career with Canadian Border Services for over 33 years where he was known as “The Wall”. He was an active member of the Church Athletic Hockey League and Kingston Thunder Baseball Association. Pat will continue to be known for his humble and witty nature which made him a well-respected person. A private family liturgy will be held at the Wartman Funeral Home Kingston Chapel on Friday, January 15, 2021 with interment at St. James Cemetery in Belleville following. Friday’s service will be available by Zoom, please email the funeral home wartmanfuneralhome@sympatico.ca for the link. A celebration of Pat’s life will be held at a later date once COVID-19 restrictions have lifted. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat's memory made to Kingston Thunder Baseball Association, Our Lady of Lourdes Hockey Association (Church Athletic League) or the Ontario Brain Injury Association would be appreciated.
