ALSOP: Mary Lilian (nee Hobson) - Leaving a large void in the lives of her family and friends, Mary Alsop, quietly joined her heavenly father on Thursday July 8, 2021. Mary had a long and blessed life. The daughter of Norman Compton and Victoria Hobson, ( both deceased). Mary had a happy home life with her brother William Hobson (deceased), George Hobson (Marna) and sister Margaret McConnell (deceased). Mary married her one and true love James Douglas Alsop (deceased 1991) and created their own loving family having two daughters Brenda Alsop (Andrew), Sandhurst and Peggy Shelley (Brian), Dorland. Both girls remained close to home and Mary was an intrigal part of family dinners, celebrations and was extremely proud of her grandchildren. James Shelley (Kristy) Napanee, Samantha Shetler (Kris) Newburgh and Leah Shelley (Spencer) Hamilton. Mary shared in and was delighted by the achievements and antics of her three great grandsons, Franklin and David Shetler and Parker Shelley. May God shine his light and love on all of Mary's many nieces, nephews and friends and her dear friend Dawn VanDusen as they mourn her passing. Peggy and Brenda and family would like to thank the EMTs, Lennox and Addington OPP and Wartman's Funeral Home for their compassion and respect they showed during this difficult time. A special thank you to Karen Thompson and VON, without whose assistance Mary would have not have been able to remain home these last few years. Your kindness is appreciated more then you know.

Private family funeral service will be held on Monday July 12 with interment to follow at McDowall, Sandhurst.
