Obituary for Margaret Elizabeth Hogan

Hogan; Margaret Elizabeth (nee Haggerty)

Sadly, on March 7, 2023 with her children by her side and her favourite music playing, we lost our beloved mom, Margaret Elizabeth Hogan, for the second and final time after suffering through the torment of dementia. Margaret was in her 84th year of life which was a life well lived.

Margaret loved her family dearly and cherished every moment spent with them. She was an amazing woman who kept busy as an accomplished business owner and with her many artistic gifts and abilities. Her passions and talents were family dinners, baking, painting, woodworking, gardening, travelling, bowling, square dancing and was a witty and brilliant euchre player with a love for music - especially old-time fiddle and Irish music (her favourite Daniel O'Donnell).

She was kind and gentle and applied a special touch to everything she did. She loved nature, her many pets and feeding all the birds that regularly visited her bird feeders.
Margaret will be sadly missed by family and friends and will be cherished and loved dearly forever. Mom may you be at peace as you reunite with the loved ones who have gone before you.

Treasured mother to Brenda McCumber of Kingston, Audrey (Dave) Hagerman of Kingston, Doug (Aimee) McCumber of Seeley’s Bay and Wanda McCumber (Kevin Black) of Kingston. A nanny/grandma who will be remembered with love and fondness by Adam (Amanda) Milligan , Apryl (Michael) Egger, Jenny (Nick) Bohdanec, Matthew (Kendra) McCumber, Alexandra (Maverick) Pankow, Leah (Sam) McCumber, and Victoria (Michael) Pankow. Adored Great grandmother to Ross, Cora, Gavin, Lucas, Grace, and Lincoln. She is survived by her caring sister June Cullen. Beloved wife of the late Robert Hogan. Sweet daughter of the late Leslie and Nancy Haggerty, and predeceased by siblings Helen Sharpley, Robert James Haggerty, Elwood Haggerty, Merle Haggerty, and Deryl Haggerty.

A huge thank you to staff at Fairmount Retirement Home for the outstanding care, tender compassion and kind support received during moms final days.
