Obituary for Madeleine Isabel Stinson

Madeleine passed away peacefully in the early morning of August 21, 2022 at the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital in 101st year. She was born on January 5, 1922, the second child to Rev. Robert Wilson Carr and Lilian Bennett O'Hara Carr both deceased. They lived in Fitch Bay, in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. She is predeceased an older brother Barton (late Alita), a younger sister Jean and a younger brother David (Anne). As a Public Health Nurse she began working in the County of Lennox and Addington and was living in Tamworth where she met the love of her life, the late Bert Stinson. They were married June 5, 1954. As a member of Trinity Church, she sang in the choir for a number of years and helped out with the church bazaar as a member of the UCW. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews and friends. We would like to thank the staff of the Riverine for their loving care and compassion during the seven years she lived there. Also the staff at L&A Hospital who were with her during her last hours of her life. The family will receive friends at the Wartman Funeral Home, Napanee Chapel on Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 10-11 followed by Celebration of Life in the Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. A reception will follow. Interment Point Alexander Cemetery, Wolfe Island. For those wishing, memorial donation may be made by cheque to Trinity United Church Memorial Fund, Napanee or the L&A Hospital Foundation.
