Obituary for Beryl Cleary

Cleary, Lyda Beryl (nee Pollard) - Passed away peacefully, after a brief battle with cancer, at Providence Care Hospital in Kingston on Friday, May 24, 2019 at the age of 82. She will be lovingly remembered by husband of 57 years William Cleary, by son Sean (Grace), grandchildren Jason (Kristy) Hall, Brennan, Brigid and Siobhan Cleary, Rose Cleary-Yu, great-grandson Madden Hall, sister-in-law Betty Fanning, and, by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She is predeceased by daughter Mary, her parents George and Elizabeth Pollard (nee Cockerline), and by siblings Ted, Bob, Bill, and John Pollard, and Janet Whitehouse (nee Pollard).

Born and raised in Huron County, Ontario, Beryl enjoyed her early years there, sharing many happy moments with family and friends. She subsequently spent several years in Whitby, Ontario and in Nova Scotia, enjoying a successful career working for Durham County and the County of Antigonish, before eventually retiring and spending the last decade in Kingston to be close to her son and grandchildren.

A dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt (Aunt B), she centred her life around her family, supporting them to the fullest of her abilities. While she took enjoyment and great pride in her career accomplishments, her happiest moments included spending time with her family - and shopping for them.
