I remember Lloyd showing his horses at the fairs many years ago when I was a teenager, 50 years ago. He would have loved this picture of himself driving one of his beautiful horses, probably at the Royal Winter Fair. My Dad, Harry Hicks, showed at the Royal once. I showed his his hackney pony in the Lady's Drive - very exciting. I remember you, Carolyn always driving in the Lady's Drive classes at the fairs & the Royal. I didn't miss attending many Royal Winter Fairs. It was always great to see local people there ,especially exhibitors. You & your Dad always put on a good show. I hope you continue. The last time I saw your Dad at the Royal, my daughter & I visited him at his stall & was introduced to one of his fine horses. My daughter was very impressed with your Dad & his horse. Lloyd kept himself in good health; I saw him running frequently & we usually had a couple of dances at the dances in Kingston, Napanee & Belleville. One never knew where you might see Lloyd, delivering car parts, selling real estate, dancing, running, driving a good horse.....He lived his life to the fullest.
Sincerely, Lorna Richmond

Just heard of Lloyd's passing. We are saddened by his loss. We remember being at the Royal Fair while he was showing his horses. It was obvious that he loved showing horses and loved showing horses with his daughter, Carolyn. So sorry for your loss. Janet and Linda

Lloyd was always a pleasure to be in the presence of, I remember running into him at Rideau-Carelton Raceway as he was scouting for Road Horses. Lloyd and I sat around the trailer and stood alongside the show ring many times. Great memories with a great friend. Rest in peace
