Obituary for Kym Mioko Murray (Watson)

Kym Mioko Murray (Watson)
Murray; Kym Mioko (nee Watson) - It’s with a heavy heart and a depth of pain that is indescribable that we are forced to let go of one of the most caring and loving people to ever grace this earth.
Kym Mioko Watson Murray left this world, for a new adventure, on Monday January 29th, 2018.

In our minds eye, we will always see her long flowing dark hair falling gently around her face, coming to rest easy on her strong shoulders as she turns, revealing her stunning smile, which was the expression that graced her beautiful face most often.

Kym was an incredibly positive person, a fantastic wife and partner, an exceptional mother, daughter and friend as well as an accomplished interpreter for the Deaf; always striving to attain the highest professional and personal achievements.

Kym worked lovingly and tirelessly to assist consumers in building and supporting a communication bridge between the hearing world and the Deaf while fostering a sense of equality for and acceptance of all people. She considered it such a great privilege to be invited behind the curtain into people’s lives to assist them.

Kym left a positive mark on everyone and everything she touched as her life took her across the country and province. From wandering the banks of Newfoundland as a toddler, to attending public school in Elmira, high school in Brantford to McMaster University in Hamilton, to Sheridan College in Oakville, eventually settling and building a career and family in Kingston, the city she came to call Home. It was also with great excitement and pride that she travelled abroad living and working in Jamaica for the United Church and no surprise, she made friends for life in every local. If you were fortunate enough to call her a friend or even just briefly cross paths then you know she was always in your corner, endlessly rooting for the success and happiness of those she held so dear.

Kym leaves behind her loving husband; Jason, whose life, he swears, only really began the day they met. She is heart-achingly missed by her beloved daughters Marley, Breeanna, Cortney and Ashley. An exceptional 8 year old in every way and 3 lovely young women inside and out. They meant the absolute world to her and to whom she passed on a sense of integrity, courage, humour and determination. The same traits she learned at the hip of her incredibly proud parents Ann and Rev. David Watson and growing up with loving brothers Ryan and Robb (Jaye, sister in law/partner in crime) and nieces and nephew Mazie, Truman and Poppie who thought the sun rose and set on their Auntie Kym. Big sister Theresa (Glenn) and in laws, including Irene ‘Nan’ Bauder, Stella (George), Jamie-Lynn & niece Hannah as well as her best friends, Lori, Eric, Bob, Sue, Rich, Tracey and her aunts, uncles and cousins will all forever hold her in their hearts.

A heart felt thank you to Dr. Hay and the stem cell team at KGH for supporting Kym and the whole family through their journey.

Please join the family in celebrating Kym’s life at a service to be held on Saturday February 10th, 2018 at 2pm at Wartman Funeral Home - Kingston Chapel, 980 Collins Bay Road Kingston, Ontario. Aquamation has already taken place.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kingston Humane Society, to which Kym was a generous patron and/or a "gofundme" page entitled “Marley’s Educational Fund” has been set up for Kym and Jason’s 8 year old daughter in an effort to help meet her future educational needs.
