Dunbar; Kevin Garry - It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Kevin Garry Dunbar, devoted husband and father, on Sunday, June 5, 2022. He was born on May 26, 1975 in Brockville, Ontario. Sadly missed by wife Liz and daughters Ciara (11) and Maggie (9); parents Eithne and Tony Dunbar, sisters Fiona (Chris), Siobhan (Josh), and Aileen (Andrew), brother-in-law Jimmy and nieces Maya and Sarah and nephews Benjamin and Miles. Also missed by Aunts, Uncles and cousins in Ireland, England and the United States and friends in Kingston, Brockville, Napanee, Lyndhurst, Belleville, Mississauga, Minnesota and around the world.

A keen and talented runner, Kevin graduated from Thousands Islands Secondary School, Brockville as a double OFSAA medalist in the 800m and 1500m. He attended the NCAA Division I, University of Minnesota on a track scholarship and obtained a law degree from Queen’s University, Kingston. He was a member of the Kingston Road Runners Association, participating in local races. He was passionate about triathlon, competing in Half Ironman races in Mont Tremblant and Lake Placid. Kevin loved his training partners the “Trihardz”. Recently, he followed in his father’s footsteps and became a marathon runner, with an impressive debut in the Muskoka Marathon and also completed the Boston Marathon in April of this year.

Kevin was a gifted and compassionate lawyer who practised in Napanee, Kingston, Belleville and Brockville. He had a strong sense of justice and was passionate about protecting people’s rights. He worked hard to support and champion his clients and his colleagues were like a second family.

First and foremost, Kevin was a loving and devoted father to Ciara and Maggie, who were the light of his life. Kevin was driven by his love for, and genuine interest in his people - his large circle of family, friends, coworkers and clients alike. Everyone was special to him.
