Joyce passed away peacefully with family by her side, just seven days shy of her 94th birthday.
Loving wife of John Mayhew for 41 years. Missed by John’s daughters, Virginia and Janet and grandchildren, Connor, Claire, Emma and Jan Douglas: Her nieces Deborah Ferrare ( Soperton, GA), Gillian Harris (NZ) and nephews Timothy Harris (NZ ) and Andrew Harris (NZ)
Joyce lived her life to the fullest with an adventurist spirit.
As a young girl, she immigrated to Australia from England with her family and later, she moved to New Zealand which she called home for many years. Joyce met her husband John Mayhew in Canada and relocated to Kingston.
Joyce’s favourite activities included travelling, hiking, painting, sailing, Scottish country dancing and singing. Joyce continued to sing with the Sweet Adeline Chorus until she was 92 years young! Her biggest love of all was for all animals big and small.
Gifts to the Kingston Humane Society would be greatly appreciated by her family.
