The McAlister family announces the loss of their beloved Alex, in his 82nd year, on December 13, 2019. Alex is survived by Joan, his wife of 60 years, and their children Shelley (Jim), Annette (Kevin), Alyson (Derrick), Colleen (Elly), and Shaun. Loving Papa of Shevaughn, Shannon, Jason, Myles, Brittany, Melissa, Rebecca, Ryan, Lana, Matthew, Brandon, Julianna, Baraka, Javan and Shawn and great-grandchildren McAlister, Madison, Sophia, Alexandrea, Mackenzie, Katley, Brennan, Alan, Rylie, Kyrie, Bentley, Abigail and Myah. Fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Bill and Isabel and brother Bill. Survived by his brother Tom (Flo predeceased).
The family would like to thank the staff at Kingston Health Sciences Centre for the exceptional care given to Alex and the love and support from family and friends over the past month.
The family will receive friends on Monday December 16 from 7 – 9 pm at the Wartman Funeral Home, 980 Collins Bay Rd, Kingston, and Tuesday December 17 at 12 pm at St. Peters Anglican Church, 4333 Bath Road, Kingston, with Celebration of Life service to follow at 1 pm. Interment at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, donations may be made by cheque to St. Peters Anglican Church and by cheque or credit card to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Kingston, in lieu of flowers.
