I will always treasure our animated discussions about music, performers, repertoire and, of course, favourite recipes. Ivan loved life and took such great pride in his family. I will always remember his musical and career advice on so many different issues. He was generous and kind and possessed a very big heart!! Requiem Aeternam dear friend.

Gone from My Sight I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads its white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. It is an object of beauty and strength and I stand and watch it at length. It hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other. Then, someone at my side says: "There, it's gone!" Gone where? Gone from my sight - that is all. It is just as large in mast and hull and spar as it was when it left my side: and just as able to bear its load of living freight to the place of destination. Its diminished size is in me, not in it; and just at that moment when someone at my side says: "There, it's gone!", there are other eyes watching it coming and other voices ready to take up the glad shout. Here it comes! And that is dying. WE PRAY THAT THE FOREGOING POEM MAY PROVIDE SOME COMFORT TO FAMILY MEMBERS AT THIS SAD TIME VIVIENNE & BOB COFFEY

Ivan played "fiddler on the roof" at Sue and Ray's wedding in Brockville. It was a special treat for all present. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers on Sunday. Big hugs from Lindsay!!
