Faulk; Helen Bernice - July 1, 1919 - December 31, 2019
Helen Bernice Faulk was 100 years old when she passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2019 after a gradual decline in health in recent years. She was born Helen Bernice Dawson, daughter of John and Delia Dawson, at Napanee, Ontario. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Pastor Albert Smith, son Lloyd Smith and one great-granddaughter, Nina Hsiung, brothers Malcom and Bruce Dawson and sister Violet Grant. She is survived by a daughter, E. Gael Lohnes, son-in-law, Pastor Keith Lohnes, two grandaughters, Ruth Juhlin (Steven) and Marie Hsiung (Steven) and five great-grandchildren, Rachel, Anna, Matthew Juhlin, Sarah and Serena Hsiung.
With her husband, Pastor Albert Smith, she worked in church ministries in the Standard Church and Free Methodist Church, serving congregations in Quebec and Ontario. In later years she continued to serve in lay ministry at Napanee with pastoral visitation for the Free Methodist Church and leading seniors hymn sings. After her first husband died she was married to Albert Faulk of Denbigh, Ontario who also pre-deceased her.
In 2003 after a stroke, she moved to a care facility in Brampton, Ontario to be near her daughter, Gael. At the time of her passing she was living at Faith Manor, Holland Christian Homes. In recent years, she was a member of Bramalea Free Methodist Church, Brampton, Ontario.
Her faithful Christian life and demonstration of love and compassion blessed the lives of many. She was truly a trusted servant of the Lord. Visitation will be held at Wartman Funeral Home - 448 Camden Road, Napanee on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm followed by a service in the Chapel at 2:00 pm. Interment in Violet Cemetery in the Spring. Memorial donations by cheque only to Vennachar Free Methodist Church or Canadian Bible Society are appreciated by the family.
