Obituary for Richard Grieve
Grieve, Gilbert Richard - Passed away peacefully at Helen Henderson Care Centre, Amherstview on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the age of 91. He is predeceased by his cherished wife Lorraine (nee Sexsmith). Loving father of Martin Grieve (Cynthia) of Kingston, Bradley Grieve (Erika) of Ajijc, Mexico and Louise Demers (Pascal) of Amman, Jordan. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Becky, John, Ana Sofia, Andres, Isabel and Claire and great grandson Will. Dick will be lovingly remembered by his many relatives, friends and caregivers.
Dad led a full life teaching us balance between work and hobbies. He had a full career with IBM, a number of years with Richard Besner and started a successful balsa wood business. Hockey was a life long passion of dads whether it was his sons, grandson, Kitchener Rangers or the Leafs, he loved them all. His ultimate passion was aircraft, starting as a child building model airplanes and evolving to an accomplished pilot while courting mom. He turned his focus to becoming a builder, pilot and instructor of radio controlled airplanes.
A graveside service to honour our dad will be held at Parkhill Cemetery, 33095 Grand Bend Road, Parkhill, Ontario, N0M 2K0 on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 1:00 pm followed by a time of fellowship and refreshment at Denning's Funeral Home, 32 Metcalfe Street West, Strathroy, Ontario, N7G 1M6.
