Obituary for Frank Scheck

Surrounded by family, Frank passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2014 at Arbour Heights, in Kingston. He was in his 84th year. Born on January 29, 1931 in Szentgotthard, Hungary, he came to Canada in 1957 following the Hungarian Revolution. He settled in Trenton where he owned a tailor shop and later in Kingston where he dedicated 25 years to Correctional Services Canada. He was employed as a tailor and later as an upholstry instructor and supervisor, mainly in the Millhaven and Kingston facilities. Frank was also an active member of the Hungarian Club of Kingston where he held several executive positions.
Frank was the loving father of Cynthia Bringas (John) and stepfather of Robert Pogany (Colleen), dear grandfather of Isabella & Amaelia Bringas and Shyla Pogany, and dedicated brother of Maria Herczeg. He will also be remembered by niece Katherine Lopes, nephews Imre & Laszlo Herczeg and many cousins in Hungary.
The family will receive friends at the Wartman Funeral Home "Kingston Chapel" (980 Collins Bay Rd. at Taylor Kidd Blvd., Kingston ON. K7M 5H2 613-634-3722) on Sunday from 2 - 6 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church (1111 Taylor Kidd Blvd., Kingston) on Monday February 17, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Cataraqui Cemetery, Kingston on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Memorial donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research would be appreciated by the family.
