Obituary for Vera Labrecque
Labrecque; Elvira "Vera" (nee DiBernardo) - Passed away surrounded by her family in her 97th year at The John M. Parrott Centre in Napanee, Ontario on October 21, 2019.
Vera lived for her family. She also loved cards, bingo, Scrabble, Webster's English Dictionary, and was a savvy and successful business woman. Vera's love of fashion was well-known and evident throughout her entire life as was her kind spirit and infectious smile.
Vera is dearly missed by her children: Vivian, Gloria, John, Julie (David Lavallee), Nina (John March) and Anna (Ron Yorke); grandchildren: Karina (Jeremy), Anna-Lyssa, Catherine, Dave/D.J. (Angela), Natasha (Jeffery), Hayley; great-grandchildren: Shaila, Maysen, Cohen, Caleb, Jackson, Lilah; her siblings Connie Pinka and Tony DiBernardo; her "adopted" daughters Linda Carter and Louise Thompson and many nieces and nephews and close family friends.
Vera is predeceased by her sweetheart and husband of 52 years, Jerry. She is also predeceased by her siblings Linda Hermakowski, Carmella Caporuscio, Jean Zelda, Joe DiBernardo, Mario DiBernardo, Domenic DiBernardo, her parents Juliette and Domenico DiBernardo, her granddaughter Tammy Bull, her daughter-in-law, Cecilia Labrecque and her sons-in-law Robert Bull and Michael Mascarin.
Prior to moving to The John M. Parrott Centre, Vera spent four months at the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital. Vera's family would like to thank the medical personnel and staff of the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital and The John M. Parrott Centre whose dedication and compassionate care always made Vera feel secure and loved.
There will be a Mass and Celebration of Vera's life at a later date.
Memorial donations in Vera's name are greatly appreciated and can be made by cheque only to The John M. Parrott Centre or by cheque or credit card to the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation.
