Obituary for Edward Norman Leonard

Leonard; Edward Norman - Suddenly and Peacefully at home on Sunday, April 26, 2020 in his 94th year. Predeceased by his loving wife, Myral (nee Kellar). Cherished father of Michael, Oshawa; Shelly (Grant) McKenna, Bath; Christine (Charles) Dondero, Sydenham; and Steven (Jayne), Napanee. Caring grandfather to Benjamin, Jason & Sarah, Erin (Michael), Shannon (Ryan), Matthew, Tommy, Mariah, Curtis, Danielle, and Joanna and great grandfather to Alexa, Louisiana, Emma, Lacy, Isaac, Zoey, and Grace. He will be fondly remembered by his family in England, especially his sister and his nieces and nephews. Teddy (Poppy) served as a Royal Engineer in World World II before moving to Canada in 1957 for a better life. He spent his career working as a pipe fitter for Local Union 221, a job that took him across Canada. He married his wife Myral in 1958 and they spent 40 happy years together, making their home in the Village of Bath. They loved to travel together, spending many winters in Florida. Teddy was creative, resourceful, and always a dreamer. He loved painting, gardening, and woodworking. Teddy and Myral loved to take their four children on family vacations in the station wagon and enjoyed camping in Adolphustown and Pickerel Park. After selling his home in Bath, he moved to the Shipyards in Kingston, where he enjoyed the lake, BBQ, and entertaining family and friends. Wherever he went, he made many friends. He was a very honest and lovable chap with a great zest for life, who always missed his home England. He loved speaking to his grandchildren and knowing their every move. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be dearly missed.
