Johnston, Charles "Bruce"
It is with heavy hearts that we announce Bruce's passing on Sunday October 24, 2021, just shy of his 90th birthday. Loving husband of 51 years of Grace Johnston (nee Purvis), father of Elizabeth Johnston, Katherine (Peter) Mitchell, Kimberly (Matt) Evans and Anne (Michael) Ranger. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Mary Johnston and son Jim. Proud Grandfather to 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Uncle Booboo will also be missed by Ken (Liz) Purvis, Bruce (Shirley) Purvis and Brian Purvis. Bruce was a gifted singer and musician who was playing the banjo, guitar, mandolin and piano into his 80's. He was also a drummer in the Rob Roy Pipe Band in his youth with his lifelong friend Bob Purvis. Bruce had a great sense of humour and cracked jokes and kept us laughing right up until the end. The family would like to thank the staff of Rideaucrest Home, especially the screening staff and the staff on the 4th floor, for their compassion and for Bruce's exemplary care. In keeping with Bruce's wishes, private arrangements have been entrusted to the Wartman Funeral Home, Kingston.
Online condolences and donations in memory of Bruce can be made to Canadian Cancer Society, the Kidney Foundation or the Heart & Stroke Foundation through www.wartmanfuneralhomes.com.
Until we meet again, Dad ...... We love you all the numbers.
