Passed away peacefully in hospital on January 22, 2020 with his family by his side. Bruce leaves behind his beloved wife and soulmate Joyce, brother Dennis (Faridah) Kingston, sisters Debbie (Gerry) Braun, BC, and Kathy (Greg) Hunter, AB, sister-in-laws Rose (late Alfred) Henderson, Hamilton, Pauline (late Bob) Boreland, Hamilton, Dora (Roger) Burke, Bath, Lillian Emery, Hamilton, and Betty (John) McCurdy, Dundas, brother-in-law Glendon (Ann) Smith, MB, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Son of the late Aron and Tena (Peters) of Wetaskiwin, Alberta. He graduated from the University of Alberta in 1971 in Civil Engineer with Distinction. He began his career with Stelco, in Hamilton, going to Abu Dhabi with Cansult, working with McCormick and Rankin in Toronto, and finally going to Bolivia with Delcan. He returned to Ottawa in 1981 working with Delcan until his retirement in 2005, as Manager of Structural Engineering Dept. He left his mark, working on several Structural Engineering projects in Ottawa, including the Hunt Club Bridge, Cummins Bridge, Corkston Pedestrian Bridge and the Bytown Bridges. In 2005 Bruce & Joyce retired to Loyalist G & CC in Bath, Ontario. Special thanks to many doctors and nurses at the Kingston Cancer Center of Southeastern Ontario, and the L&A Palliative Care. Arrangements in the care of Wartman Funeral Home - Kingston Chapel, Arrangements have been postponed, A Celebration of Bruce's life will be held at a later date.
