Obituary for Bonnie Fredenburgh (Andrews)

Bonnie Fredenburgh, of Bath Ontario, passed on October 22 2022 from a short battle with Cancer. Bonnie was 82 and predeceased by her Father George Andrews and Mother Aubrey Andrews. She is survived by her loving husband Kent Fredenburgh, brother Doug Andrews (Lois), Stepsons Jeffrey (Cynthia) and Shaun (Jodi), Grandchildren David, James, Maxwell, Kael, Kaden, & Jace, her Niece Krista (Ted) and Nephew Ryan (Deana), and great Nieces Scarlett and Lilli.

Bonnie was born on February 12, 1940. She attended TL Kennedy Secondary School and Teachers College and lived in Mississauga for most of her adolescent and adult life. Bonnie taught with the Peel District School Board for 32 years, most of them at Corsair Public School teaching Special Ed. Even in her retirement, she remained involved with the school board. She was Past President of RTO Peel District 39.

Bonnie and Kent wed in May of 1977, celebrating a beautiful 45 years of Marriage in 2022. Bonnie was a true friend, wife, and partner to Kent and they had the recipe for a life-long love story.

After her retirement in 1994, Bonnie spent time in places she cherished with people she loved, doing things that brought her absolute joy. She celebrated her love of music singing amongst the vibrant and passionate women of The Ambiance Singers in Mississauga from mid 1990's to mid 2000's. She enjoyed many summers at the cottage in the 1000 Islands on the St Lawrence River and loved travelling to far away places – citing fond memories from her visits to Greece and Russia.

In 2007, Bonnie and Kent became Florida snowbirds, spending many winter seasons at Sun-N-Fun in Sarasota, making lasting friendships and establishing a beloved home-away-from-home.

Bonnie was an avid card player, and member of the American Contract Bridge League, achieving her “Life Master” in early 2022. She loved games of any kind and was known for her competitive spirit. Also a life-long hobbyist, Bonnie was known for her knitting and crafts, regularly making holiday decorations (to add to her very large Santa collection), celebration cards, home décor and jewelry.

Bonnie was also known for her love of sports, particularly with her loyal following to the Toronto Blue Jays. She valued her local community and the many friends she has made in Loyalist Township over the years, She was a recent member of the Bath and District Lions Club of Canada.

Bonnie is also survived by her dog Panda, whom she loved dearly. She was a friend of all dogs, and is predeceased by her dogs Spick & Span, and Peaches & Cream.

Above all, Bonnie loved people and having a good time. We will miss her more than words can say.

A Celebration of life will be held in Bath Ontario at St John's Hall on May 27th, 2023 from 1-4 pm.
