Obituary for Connie Vanden Oetelaar

Van Den Oetelaar; Constance Katherine Marie "Connie" (nee Caesar) - Passed away peacefully at Friendly Manor Nursing Home, Deseronto on Monday, February 4, 2019 in her 95th year. Predeceased by her husband Gysbertus P "Casper" in 2009, her parents Brunetto Caesar and Grace (nee Stamper) and her brother Donald. Survived by her sisters, Jean Morrison (late Bill) of Toronto and Lynne Fisher (late Don) of Kitchener. Beloved mother of sons Dwighte (Elizabeth) of Parkland County, Alberta, Peter of Napanee, and daughter Anna of Newmarket. She was a special grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Aunt Connie will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Holland.

Among her many talents our mother was a seamstress (she made her own clothes and ours when we were growing up in Bradford), a knitter (as a Guardian Angel she supplied many outfits for preemies) but most of all she was a meticulous cross-stitcher (no design was too challenging or too large). Her retirement years allowed her to devote many hours to her favourite "stitching" passion. Friends and family waited patiently for special occasions and holidays to arrive when the mailman would again deliver another beautiful creation (never the same one twice).

The family would like to extend a huge thank you to all the staff at Friendly Manor for their care and compassion to our mother. It was most comforting to us to know that she was in good hands.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no service. Good memories will comfort us.

Donations to a charity of choice will be remembered with appreciation by the family. On-line condolences at www.wartmanfuneralhomes.com
