Obituary for Maureen Anne "Moe" Kenney (Murray)

Kenney; Maureen Anne "Moe" (nee Murray) - May 25,1940 - October 8, 2018 (Graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing 1961). It is with profound sadness our family announce the death of our beloved Mom and Grandma. Loving wife of the late Wilf Kenney (2011). Cherished Mom of Anne + Joe Hulton, Sue + Chris Anderson, Paul + Christine Kenney. A fun loving, proud, and supportive Grandma who will never be forgotten by Jacqueline Hulton, Payton and Irelyn Anderson, Jack, Anna and Emily Kenney. Survived by her brothers Mike Murray (late Margie) and Raymond (Bonnie) Murray. Cherished Aunt to her Nieces and Nephews. Predeceased by siblings Thomas Murray, Mary Orr (Doug). Sister in-law of Cecil and Evelyn Kenney. Predeceased by Jim Kenney (survived by Gladys), Mary Irene O'Hearn (Andy). Maureen grew up in Westport - attending St. Edwards High School. Where she excelled as an athlete playing softball and hockey. After graduating St. Joseph's School of Nursing, Maureen travelled and worked all over Canada + Hawaii. She returned to Kingston to marry Wilf Kenney and start their family. A dedicated Nurse, Mom worked at Hotel Dieu + then finished her career after 25 years as a charge nurse at Providence Manor. Maureen was committed to her family + friends and was a proud Kingstonian. As "Kingston's oldest teenager" Moe was always ready for a fun time, whether it be a great conversation, a round of golf, a game of bridge, anything out doors or enjoying downtown Kingston. Maureen was extremely proud of her Family. A devoted Mom & Grandma, and a wonderful Friend to all to the end. The family will receive friends at the Wartman Funeral Home - Kingston Chapel on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 1-4 & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 10:00 am. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery.
