Obituary for Jeffrey Mahlon Shaver

Shaver, Jeffrey Mahlon - Passed away suddenly at the age of 63 on Wednesday, August 29, 2018. Loving husband of the late Leslie Stewart. Jeff leaves behind his daughter Elizabeth and her partner Kevin Dunbar, son Jimmy and cherished grandchildren Ciara and Maggie. He is survived by sisters Kim Varnam (Karl), Sandy Haggart (Doug), Holly Roper (Steve), brother Raymond Shaver (Tracy) and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Denzil and Ethel Shaver (nee McKay). Jeff was born in Hamilton, Ontario. He was raised on a farm in South Mountain, Ontario where he developed his lifelong love of fishing on the Nation River. He enjoyed his career as a lineman at Bell Canada. He loved touring around on his motorcycle and looked like a badass doing it. Family was the most important part of Jeff’s life. He was loving, fiercely loyal and always supportive. He was proud of his children and loved spending time with them and his granddaughters. We will miss his sense of humour, practical jokes and incessant singing when he was happy. Visitation will be held of Friday, September 7, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Wartman Funeral Home - Kingston Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jeff’s memory to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF) - KGH Neuro Science by cheque or credit card would be appreciated by the family.
