Obituary for Garrett Harrison Mills

Garrett Harrison Mills passed away suddenly on Friday, May 12th 2017. Garrett was a shining light whose greatest desire was to brighten the lives of those he encountered in his everyday life. His positive attitude towards everything and everyone was an inspiration to the many who knew him. Garrett was born on February 27th, 2002 in Winnipeg, MB. His favourite things to do were spending time with family, friends and his dog Roscoe. Garrett loved nature, biking, and take afternoon walks along the boardwalk. Garrett was also an avid video gamer, but true to his nature he never played anything violent. Garrett had great aspirations for his future with an interest in becoming a professional photographer. More than that, he expressed many times how he wanted to make a difference in the world. He was a natural peacemaker. He could never understand why people or nations had difficulty in co-existing. He is deeply missed by his father and mother, Dave and Gwen (nee Els) Mills, his brother Landon Mills and his sisters Brooklynne Mills (Jeff Huffman) and Eliyah Mills (Shawn Lapensee) as well as his grandparents June St. Marie and Edward Els, his uncle Matt Mills (Carol Campanola), auntie Claire Sunduk, auntie Sue Hartwig (Terry), auntie Rhonda Werstroh, cousins Bailey Werstroh, Autumn Werstroh, Marcus Sunduk, Amanda Rohr and Blaire Hartwig. He is also missed by extended family members, Skip Portney (Leslie), Hilory Boucher (Bernie Carlin), Lindsay Rubridge, Devon Fernald, Kerry Wills, Jenney Teseriero, Anna Bement and John Teseriero. Garrett is pre-deceased by his grandparents James and Janet Mills. The family will receive friends at the Wartman Funeral Home - Napanee Chapel on Thursday, May 18 from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Evangel Temple on Friday, May 19 at 11:00am. Donations made in memory of Garrett to Scotia Bank Account #055460452084 either at the bank or at Wartman Funeral Home or the Napanee Humane Society by Cash or Cheque would be greatly appreciated by the family. Letter From Heaven
When tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not here to see.
If the sun should rise and find your
Eyes filled with tears for me.

I wish so much you wouldn't cry
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things
We didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too.

When tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart.
For every time you think of me,
I'm right there in your heart.
