Obituary for Katherine Ann Reynolds (Fitt)

REYNOLDS; Katherine Ann (nee Fitt) - (born on October 8th,1945 in St. John’s, Newfoundland) Passed away peacefully in the company of friends and family on February 24, 2017 from Peritoneal Mesothelioma at Kingston General Hospital, Ontario. Kathy was preceded in death by her husband Gary Cyril Reynolds and brother Fred Fitt (Betty). She was survived by her brother Mike, and her children Victoria Reynolds and Michael Chan Reynolds (Cynthia), step-daughter Carol Ann Achtymichuk (Gerald) and by many nieces and nephews. She was also a beloved Grandmother to Caitlin and Mitchell.

Kathy grew up in Guelph, Ontario. She worked at Allen-Bradley (where she met her husband, Gary) and Zehrs in Cambridge. In Kingston, she worked at the Hudson Bay Company and the QECVI Second Chance Program.

She was very active in the motorcycle community having travelled the length and width of North America several times and belonged to many motorcycle associations, including the Goldwing Road Riders Association, Red Knights Motorcycle Association, Sun Riders, HOG, and the CAV. She was also a seasoned traveller having enjoyed adventures in the Caribbean, Panama, the Amazon, and around the Mediterranean.
She had a big heart that was full of love for those around her. She was always looking out for those around her making sure everyone was ok. She loved to cook and was an exceptional baker (OMG the apple pie and butter tarts!!!). She always said “remember to taste everything!” She was also a fantastic planner and organizer of everything life related.

Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 12 -1 pm. with a Memorial Service to follow at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at WARTMAN FUNERAL HOME "KINGSTON CHAPEL" (980 Collins Bay Rd). Cremation has already taken place. A special thank-you to the doctors and nurses in the Oncology palliative care wing at KGH, who helped care for her during her final days. Friends desiring, may contribute to the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario (UHKF) in lieu of flowers.
