Obituary for Stephen Stewart

Stewart; Stephen - Passed away peacefully at his home, with his family by his side on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at the age of 77. Beloved husband of the late Andrea (nee Callender). Loving father of late Leslie (Jeff), Wendy (late Wally), Jimmy (Phenscree) and Susan (Alan). Caring grandfather of Elizabeth (Kevin), Jimmy, Alex, Christopher, Michael and Kaewthong. Dear great grandfather of Ciara and Maggie. Predeceased by his parents Walter and Margaret and all his siblings. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Our Stevie came from his beloved Scotland in 1957. He quickly found his place in Canada in the military where, with a great sense of duty, he proudly served for 35 years in the RC Corps of Signals. With his Liverpudlian wife and four kids in tow he travelled Canada and the world, making lifelong friends along the way. To Steve, family and friends were the most important. He so loved Jim, Terrence, Shannon, Helen, Rod, Granny, Aunties Rosalind and Edith, his big Scottish and English families, and the families Krepps, Clooney, Seabrook and Isenor. He laughed most when he was with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, perfecting his practical jokes and his bent for cheating at board games, chess and snipes. We are grateful for all that you taught us: compassion; a broad world view; a defined purpose; a good laugh, and to party hard. Thanks to the many family, friends, neighbours and healthcare providers for their support. In Family Life Continues. Memorial Mass will be held at the Holy Family Chapel (CFB Kingston, Lundy's Lane) on Saturday October 22, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Lunch to follow at Stephen's house. In memory of Stephen, donations may be made to The Military Communications and Electronics Museum Foundation. On Line condolences at www.wartmanfuneralhome.ca
