Obituary for Daniel James O'Neill
With great sadness we share with you the unexpected passing of Daniel (Dan) James O’Neill in the early hours of Saturday, August 20th, 2016. At Kingston General Hospital, and surrounded by family Dan succumbed to a brief and sudden illness.
Dan shared his life with his wife Shirley (nee Edwards) of 52 years, daughter Kathy and husband Mitch Martin, daughter Wendy and husband Greg Richardson, son Jay and wife Kelly (nee Muise). Cherished Grandad of nine grandchildren – Jenna, Sam, Tim, Ella, Andrew, Jamie, Jack, Sophie and Tess.
He will be deeply missed by his sister Pat and brother-in-law John Ibey, nephew Bryce and niece Dawn.
A private interment service with immediate family will take place on Thursday, August 25th.
Dan loved spending time with family and friends. We will all remember and miss his great humour and his warm, genuine presence.
We welcome you to join us in celebrating his life at the Royal Kingston Curling Club on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Memories and reflection at 2:15, with a toast at 3:00 pm. Informal celebration and personal well wishes to follow. The club is located at 130 Days Road, Kingston, ON K7M 9G4.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made online or at the celebration to U. H. K. F.– KGH or
U. H. K. F.– Cancer Care South East. (for online donations, please specify which department of U.H.K.F by putting "Cancer Care" or "KGH" in the notes to charity box. Arrangements in the care of Wartman Funeral Home - Kingston Chapel.
