GAY, Stanley Frederick “Stan” (Dec. 13, 1923 - May 11, 2016) Peacefully with his beloved Alice by his side at St. Mary’s of the Lake Hospital in his 93rd year. Cherished husband of 69 years to Alice (nee Richardson}. Loving father of Brian (Paulette), Jim (Jenny) David (Melia) and Dan (Kathleen). Sadly missed by his grandchildren Kyle, Alexandra (Tom), Ashley (Jordan), Ian and Sean. Fondly remembered by his sister’s-in-law Margaret, Doris and Gwen and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his Parents Frederick and Rose, brother Ralph, infant sister Marion and Grandson Adrian. During WWII, Stan served with the RCAF, attached to the RAF/Bomber Command, 106 Sqd. Having been shot down over France during this period, he survived this ordeal with the help of the French Underground. He was a Member of the Royal Canadian Escaping Society and the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 631). A most heartfelt thank you is extended to the Staff of St. Mary’s Palliative Care Team for their kindness during Stan’s stay. The family invites you to join them to Celebrate Stan’s Life at the Wartman Funeral Home “Kingston Chapel” on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 10:30 - 12:30 p.m. in the Reception Centre with Words of Remembrance at 11:30 a.m. Private family interment will be at Cataraqui Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations by cheque to the CNIB would be appreciated by the family.
